The good, the bad and the ugly:
Throughout our Christian walk we find ourselves having good spiritual moments where we were faithful to God in every way and we felt God move in our lives in very powerful ways. We have also had those moments where we look back and say. “Boy why did I do that?” Yet we find ways to get back on the spiritual track because the failure was out of character. But sometimes we find ourselves in those ugly spiritual moments. We have secret sins we never share with anyone because of the shame it would bring to us. We spend so much time trying to hide our sin that we become hypocrites who try to lead people into spiritual maturity when we haven’t dealt with our own sin.
In this year’s camp we will highlight three men of faith, Daniel, Sampson, and David. Daniel was strong in his faith even to the point of death. He faithfulness lead to others worshiping God. Sampson had tremendous power given to him by God, but ignored commands which led to his downfall. David committed a sin, tried to cover it up and couldn’t. He committed another sin covered it up and acted like nothing happened. Oh how we can relate to each of these characters at different moments in our lives.
